A/B Split Testing For Automations

If you are looking for A/B split testing inside automations, it is important to understand what the Mailcamp automation builder currently supports.

Mailcamp does not currently expose a dedicated A/B split testing step for automations

  • Based on the current Mailcamp automation flow, there is no dedicated A/B split test action in the automation editor.
  • You should not expect options such as traffic percentage split, path A/B/C setup, or a built-in Choose the winner workflow inside automations.
  • If you previously used this feature in another platform, that same automation flow is not currently available here in Mailcamp.

What is currently available in the automation builder

  • When adding a new automation action, the current builder exposes Send an email, Wait, Condition, and Operation.
  • The Condition step lets you branch contacts based on rules, such as whether a previous email was opened or a link was clicked.
  • This is a rule-based branch, not a randomized split test for comparing multiple variants.

How to check this in Mailcamp

  • Go to Automations and open your workflow.
  • Click the + button to add a new action.
  • Review the action list shown in the editor.
  • If you do not see an A/B split test option there, you should treat the feature as unavailable in your current Mailcamp setup.

What you can use instead

  • Use a Condition step when you need to branch contacts based on behavior or logic.
  • Use Wait steps to control timing between emails in your workflow.
  • If you want to compare different automation approaches, you will need to do it manually with separate automation setups rather than through a built-in automation A/B testing feature.

Important note

  • This article should not promise a built-in automation A/B split testing tool unless that option is actually visible in the Mailcamp account UI.
