How to find contacts after they sign up

After someone signs up in Mailcamp, you can usually find that person inside the audience connected to the signup form or signup flow. The exact status of the contact depends on whether your audience uses single opt-in or double opt-in.

Where to look first

  • Open the audience that was connected to the signup form, popup form, or embedded form.
  • Go to the contacts list for that audience.
  • Use the search box to look up the person by email address or name.

Why the contact may not look active yet

  • If your audience uses double opt-in, the person may appear as unconfirmed until they click the confirmation link.
  • If your audience does not require confirmation, the person may appear directly as subscribed.

Useful filters when searching

  • Use the status filter to check Subscribed.
  • If you do not see the person there, also check Unconfirmed.
  • Review other statuses if needed, such as Blacklisted or Spam reported, when troubleshooting.

If the contact signed up through a form

  • Make sure the form is connected to the audience you are reviewing.
  • Check whether the signup flow uses a confirmation email.
  • If needed, review the audience overview and contact statistics to confirm whether new contacts are being added.

Best practice

  • Keep track of which audience each signup form feeds into.
  • Use clear naming for forms and audiences so it is easy to find new contacts later.
  • If you use double opt-in, expect some signups to remain unconfirmed until the contact completes the confirmation step.

A simple rule is this: after signup, check the correct audience first, then search the contact list, and if you still do not see the person as subscribed, check the unconfirmed status before assuming the signup failed.
