Mailcamp lets you control tracking for each campaign during the setup step. You can enable or disable open tracking, click tracking, and choose whether to use a custom tracking domain when that option is available in your account.
What tracking means in Mailcamp
- Open tracking records when a recipient opens the email.
- Click tracking records when a recipient clicks a tracked link in the email.
- A tracking domain can customize the tracking links used in the campaign for branding and deliverability purposes.
Where to change tracking settings
- Open the campaign you want to edit.
- Go to the Setup step.
- Look for the tracking options in the campaign setup form.
How to enable or disable tracking
- Turn Track opens on or off depending on whether you want open reporting.
- Turn Track clicks on or off depending on whether you want click reporting.
- Save the campaign setup after changing the settings.
Using a custom tracking domain
- If your account supports it, you can enable a custom tracking domain for the campaign.
- Select the verified tracking domain you want to use.
- This helps customize tracked links and can support your branding and deliverability setup.
What to keep in mind
- If tracking is disabled, the related engagement data will not be collected for that campaign.
- Tracking settings should be reviewed before sending, because they affect how Mailcamp measures campaign performance.
- Custom tracking domains must be verified before they can be used reliably.
Special note for plain-text campaigns
- Plain-text campaigns may show a warning about open and click tracking behavior.
- Review those notes carefully if you are sending a plain-text campaign instead of an HTML one.
Helpful tip
If you rely on reports to measure campaign performance, keep tracking enabled. If you have a specific reason not to track opens or clicks, disable only the setting you do not need.
