How to resend a campaign to those who did not open the original

Mailcamp lets you resend a campaign to a filtered group from the original send. One of the available resend options is to send again only to contacts who did not open the original campaign. This is useful when you want to give non-openers another chance to see the message without resending to everyone.

When to use this option

  • When a campaign performed reasonably well but many contacts still did not open it.
  • When you want to test a second chance send without starting from scratch.
  • When you want to focus follow-up sends on the non-opener group only.

How Mailcamp handles resend options

  • Mailcamp includes a resend feature on sent campaigns.
  • The resend popup gives you three options: contacts who did not receive, did not open, or did not click the original campaign.
  • For this use case, choose the did not open option.

How to resend to contacts who did not open

  • Go to Campaigns.
  • Find the campaign you already sent.
  • Open the campaign actions and choose Resend.
  • In the resend popup, select the option for contacts who did not open the original campaign.
  • Submit the resend request.

What happens next

  • Mailcamp creates the resend based on the selected filter from the original campaign activity.
  • The system excludes the people who opened the first send from this specific resend option.
  • You can then monitor the resent campaign from the campaign list and related reports.

Things to review before resending

  • Check whether the original subject line may have limited opens.
  • Make sure the campaign is still timely and relevant.
  • Consider adjusting content, subject line, or send timing if you want the resend to perform better.

Important note

  • If your account is currently bounce-rate blocked for marketing sends, Mailcamp can stop the resend action until the issue is resolved.
  • As with other campaign actions, you must have permission to resend that campaign.

Helpful tips

  • Do not overuse resends. Too many follow-up sends can reduce engagement over time.
  • Use resend thoughtfully for high-value campaigns or important announcements.
  • Review the not-opened group in campaign reporting if you want more context before resending.
